A Word About Joe Wise...
Joe is founder and president of Solar Traffic Controls (STC), an engineering
firm which specializes in solar-powered traffic control products. He draws
upon 18 years experience in the solar electric industry to design and
manufacture solar-powered flashing beacon systems for school zones and
24-hour applications.
Joe has held positions in systems and design engineering, as well as
technical sales, with Salt River Project, SunAmp Power Company and
Photocomm, Inc., all in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. Mr. Wise was
also a member of the technical staffs at McDonnell Douglas Helicopter and
Hughes Aircraft Company where he performed design and field work on military
electronics systems.
A graduate of UCLA where he earned his BSEE in 1984, Joe continues to stay
current in his field and maintains a high level of technical proficiency.
Joe is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the International Municipal
Signal Association (IMSA) and a regular contributor to its Journal. Joe serves on the advisory panel for electrical science at Mesa Community College.
Mr. Wise resides in Mesa, Arizona with his family. His personal interests
include fly fishing, hunting, camping, wood carving, current events, travel,
reading, and investing.
