Solar Traffic Controls posts record sales and backlog
TEMPE, AZ - 01/02/2009 - Solar Traffic Controls (STC) closed its books on 2008 with record sales. The company is private so exact numbers were not disclosed but shipments were up 11 percent over 2007. The backlog of projects rolling over to 2009 represent over 20 percent of 2008 projected sales.
Joe Wise, president and chief engineer, attributes the company's record
success to a number of factors. Customer loyalty and product satisfaction
are major reasons evidenced by the high number of repeat customers with many
agencies continuing to purchase STC products year after year. STC strives to
produce highly reliable and affordable equipment in its primary product
lines. STC's distributor network also continues to keep its current products
as well as new ones visible to agencies across the country based on past
success with the products.
STC's careful and controlled growth into new areas, such as lighting and
industrial traffic safety, has also added to its growth. Industrial traffic
controls for customers such as Toyota and the U.S. Military contributed
significantly. Lighting projects for domestic applications and in
underdeveloped countries, such as Nigeria, added to the increased sales and
are expected to do so in 2009.
In 2009, the company is preparing to release the SPX Hawk a solar-powered
Hawk pedestrian signal. Please check our Website for the Portable Collision
Avoidance Training System (PCATS) a portable driver collision avoidance
training system for law enforcement personnel, and for various new lighting
packages which will be introduced to the product line.
