TraffiCalm Signs to Navajo Community
TEMPE, AZ - 07/04/2013 - Solar Traffic Controls has furnished three
TraffiCalm Driver Feedback Urban signs for the Navajo Community of Kayenta,
AZ. The township serves as the jumping off point for visitors to Monument
Valley at the Arizona/Utah border.
To raise awareness and provide traffic calming for visitors unfamiliar with
the speed limits, the township opted to install a radar speed sign at each
approach into town.
The Trafficalm DFBU was selected since it has the dual-color display, amber
for normal and warning levels of speed and red flashing numerals for over
speed conditions.
All signs were configured for solar-powered operation as solar is an
abundant free resource in the Four Corners area. STC worked with AJP
Electric of Phoenix to install the project on site.
Celebrating our 12th year designing and manufacturing solar-powered traffic
