Chandler AZ, trail lighting project approaches completion

TEMPE, AZ - 10/31/2010 - In the spring of 2010, Solar Traffic Controls was awarded a contract to produce 208 lighting power systems for the City of Chandler, AZ. The lighting systems were installed on the three-mile-long Western Canal which borders Mesa and Chandler. At the end of October, 2010, nearly 160 of the systems had been installed along the canal and many were operational.

Aside from some minor field issues the installation went smoothly. Custom test equipment provided by STC helped minimize field hook up issues for the solar power system. Photos depict the project during the day and an illuminated section of the trail at night using the Kim Warp 9 DC LED lamp.

Parts for the system - poles, STC solar power systems and lamp - were coordinated and furnished by Yale Electric. Installation was completed by Royal Southwest.
