STC Posts Record Sales for Second Quarter
TEMPE, AZ - 09/01/2009 - Solar Traffic Controls has continued to post record
sales through June, 2009. Sales are estimated to be 60 percent higher than
the first six months of 2008.
Joe Wise, president, attributes the increase in growth to STC's ability to
continue to provide standard equipment and innovative solutions for a wide
range of traffic- and public works-related projects. The company has
delivered unique system solutions in a timely manner which has helped drive
projects to its doors. Some of the major systems installed during the first
half of 2009 include:
Sensor/communications power systems for two West Coast states totaling
over 90 units
Numerous industrial control projects including custom signals for Canadian
mine
School zone systems with the new Driver Feedback urban sign
Custom flasher/blank-out power systems with communications for Homeland
Security
STC has also fielded and is preparing to install several new systems
including a "distributed" hawk pedestrian crossing system; pre-emption
optical repeater systems; and solar-powered water chiller systems for parks
and trails. All these products will be featured on STC's Web site as they
are released during the remainder of 2009.
STC has received an increasing number of calls for industrial traffic
systems since this specialty system section appeared on its Web site. These
systems are for use in manufacturing applications where traditional traffic
controls would be too expensive or too difficult to incorporate. These
projects generally focus on specific traffic controls issues and solutions
for mines, factories, farms and private facilities.
