NMDOT installs STC 24-hour flashers

TEMPE, AZ - 02/28/2008 - New Mexico DOT has installed two continuous duty, Solar Traffic Controls flashers in advance of an intersection in Pojoaque, just north of Santa Fe. The equipment consists of two poles each with a dual 12-inch amber DC LED lamp display. Based on a Precision Solar Controls design, the LED lamps feature a peak optical output of greater than 1000 Cd on center, creating high visibility on bright sunny days. Each system is self-contained and includes automatic night dimming to minimize glare and conserve power at night.

The equipment was furnished to the state through the NM sales office of Econolite and installed by McDade-Woodcock.
